Procurement/Buy Canada
The Canadian Textile Industry Association (CTIA) ​​advocates the importance of Buy Canadian and Canadian self-sufficiency for essential products such as PPE and medical textiles, among others. These products are also seen as sources of long-term growth for our businesses.
To achieve this objective, the CTIA established the Procurement in Canada Committee to study and report to its members on all matters relating to public procurement procedures and to ensure the consistency of the various Canadian and provincial governments tenders.
The Procurement in Canada Committee represents our industry at various meetings with federal and provincial procurement authorities and interacts with national associations such as Canadian Manufacturers & Exporters (https://cme-mec.ca) and the Canadian Apparel Federation. (https://www.apparel.ca) also concerned about public procurement policy issues in Canada.
The Committee's mandate is also to promote and encourage local purchases between Association members and other Canadian businesses.
