Membership & Partners

In 2020, we have reinvented our Association.

It is now time to reinvent the industry

Become a Member of the CTIA

The 2020 COVID-19 pandemic crisis has had, and certainly will have, a profound impact on our industry and the way we will do business in the future. Unexpectedly this crisis has opened up growth opportunities (and challenges) that we could not foresee in 2019.

Canada is now on the road to self-sufficiency with textile products of strategic importance to our nation such as personal protective equipment and medical textiles. We foresee opportunities in key markets such as defense, transportation and building products to name a few.

But for our industry to grow we must be heard and to be heard, we need strong representation. Now, more than ever, we need your company to be part of our association.

Through general membership you will profit from:

  1. The Association’s active presence and the lobbing power of textile industry in Ottawa;

  2. The Association’s strategic position to advise the Canadian and provincial governments on issues important to you and other members;

  3. Promoting Canadian made textiles to all levels of government;

  4. Encouraging governments and large corporate buyers to source textiles from local suppliers;

  5. Promoting Canadian content solutions on federal contracts and organize meetings with procurement decision-makers for our members;

Through our Working Committees’ membership you will influence the Canadian textile strategy on key topics related to procurement and local sourcing, trade and exports, innovation and visibility, and environment and sustainable development.

Other membership benefits also include:

  • Priority visibility in events organized by the CTIA;

  • Priority in numerous networking opportunities;

  • Access to major Canadian media outlets;

  • Visibility on CTIA website and all social media platforms;

  • Usage of the CTIA logo and tags;

It is time for your company to become a member of our Association to assure that your voice and concerns are heard and acted on by government. Your company must play an active role to secure the future of our industry for years to come.

Policy and Trade Advocacy

The Canadian Textile Industry Association (CTIA) sees international trade as a source of long-term growth for our businesses.

The CTIA studies and reports to its members on the issues relating to international trade and closely follows developments on trade policies and informs its members of any problems or potential concerns.

At the request of the Government of Canada, the CTIA represents the industry during negotiations on various trade agreements such as the Comprehensive Economic and Trade Agreement between Canada and the European Union (CETA) and the Canada-United States-Mexico Agreement (CUSMA).
